Party Pattern
Add texture and color by weaving in strands from your stash.
This is my favorite. It has loads of possibilities.

Start with any basic pattern, stitch, and yarn. Add in random strands of other yarns as you go. Always use enough yarn to cover at least 4 stitches, to make sure it doesn't pull out. Vary the length and randomize the colors.

Work the new piece in by laying it over your main yarn in the middle of a stitch, then knit until it's gone.

Confetti knitting

This photo shows the same piece from the other side, for a more subtle effect.
