Elastic Yarn
Use elastic thread to tighten your work and make it stretchy. Just add it as a 2nd color and stretch it as you go. I do this by sitting on the elastic thread to keep it taut. LOL!

The first photo shows plain knitting--the 2nd shows the difference using elastic thread. I used black elastic so you could see it, but white elastic thread would be almost invisible. The result is really thick and stretches both ways.
