Two Tips For Beginning Writers
by Audrey Owen
Here are the two tips for beginning writers:
#1 This tip is
so simple that you may laugh at it, but it's still the first tip and the
most important. It is simply this - write.
After you've written, read your work to see if you can improve it in any
way. You might consider some of the tips available at
the writing tips page at writershelper.com.
[Publisher's note--Sometimes I can't think of a
single thing to write about, but if I make myself put my fingers on the
keys in front of a blank page, words come forth every single time.]
#2 Enter contests.
A contest prepares you to write for a market. Even if you don't win, the
experience of molding your words makes you a better writer.
Audrey Owen, editor at
writershelper.com, runs contests specifically for beginning writers.
All entrants receive a 100-word critique. Learn more about Editor's
Choice writing contest.
